Calluses On Feet – Understand What It Is And How To Treat

Annoying and painful, callus on the feet are a frequent problem in many people’s lives. Typically, they develop on the top and sides of the toes and heel.b

Calluses form due to the friction of the skin with the shoes and the deformity of the toes, which cause friction. Signs and symptoms of corns include dry skin, pain, tenderness in the affected area, and rough skin.

The good news is that, with proper care and callus remover, you can treat calluses on your feet and live more comfortably. Check this post!

    FIND OUT WHY CALLUSES APPEAR

Callus appears as a natural response of the body to protect itself from frequent friction or pressure on the site, and the feet are the region that suffers the most. Usually, this happens because of the continuous use of inappropriate footwear.

In addition, it is worth noting that the appearance of callus may be related to some risk factors, as in the case of the elderly. That’s because they have less fatty tissue under their skin. People who have “hammer toe” and other foot deformities are also more susceptible.

    SEE WHAT TREATMENTS

To effectively treat calluses on your feet, you need to understand the causes. Thus, it is easier to avoid new appearances of this nuisance for the same reason. In general, the ideal is to eliminate the source of pressure. There are also some treatments that can be done at home. Check it out below.

    USE THE CORRECT FOOTWEAR

It is common for many women to have calluses on their feet, especially after spending the entire day wearing high- heeled pointed-toed shoes. In this case, the foot slides forward, pressing the toes. The result is calluses forming on the toes and even on the sole of the foot.

People who play sports also need to be careful. Running in shoes that are too tight can also contribute to callus. Therefore, it is very important to choose shoes that are comfortable. Avoid models that press on your fingers or have straps that are too tight.

    SQUEEZE LEMON AND ASPIRIN

Another simple formula to treat corns is with a lemon and aspirin solution. While aspirin contains substances that help to eliminate dry skin, lemon helps in the complete removal of calluses. This mixture is quite effective and easy to make.

Simply crush six aspirin tablets and dissolve them in a spoonful of pure lemon juice. Let the mixture act for ten minutes in the desired location and then wash your feet normally.

    USE FOOT PROTECTORS

Foot protectors are manufactured in different materials and formats, in order to meet specific needs. They are excellent options for those who do not want to give up wearing shoes — and without suffering from calluses. These items can be easily found at specialty stores.

    CONSULT A PODIATRIST

If the problem persists, do not hesitate to consult a podiatrist. The professional will be able to recommend ways to relieve the discomfort and pain, in addition to helping to isolate the cause and, mainly, to prevent the recurrence of the problem.
